About

My passion for the field of psychology is rooted in my endless fascination with the human mind and ways to utilize effective, efficient therapeutic interventions to help clients meet their goals.

I began my education at the University of Texas at Austin majoring in psychology and minoring in cultural anthropology. While in my psychology courses, I became interested in cutting-edge therapeutic modalities being taught at Naropa University’s 3-year master’s degree program in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology. After I graduated from UT Austin, I moved to Boulder, Colorado where I immersed myself in Naropa’s transformative training. The curriculum focused on exploring innovative ways to help people live more fulfilling lives with specialized courses in mindfulness meditation and Gestalt Therapy. My experience at Naropa University was deeply enriching, both personally and professionally.

While accumulating LPC licensure hours at Denton County MHMR, I realized that I wanted to continue my training in psychology and decided to acquire a doctorate in Counseling Psychology. I attended Our Lady of the Lake University’s Counseling Psychology program in San Antonio, Texas, an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited doctoral program. The curriculum at OLLU focused on strength-based, postmodern theories of counseling, specifically Solution-Focused Therapy. Through their training, I was able to enhance my skills in providing efficient, effective therapeutic interventions to help clients meet their therapeutic goals.

While in graduate school, I worked in a variety of therapeutic settings from a partial hospitalization program to university counseling centers. I also taught several undergraduate psychology courses, and completed my dissertation on marital naming practices. I am currently licensed in the State of Texas.
