About

My commitment to the field of psychology is grounded in a deep, enduring curiosity about the human mind and a dedication to providing effective, evidence-based interventions that help clients achieve meaningful change.

I began my higher education at the University of Texas at Austin majoring in psychology and minoring in cultural anthropology. While in my psychology courses, I developed a strong interest in innovative therapeutic modalities, which led me to pursue graduate training at Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado. I completed their 3-year master’s program in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology in 2007. The curriculum emphasized experiential and holistic approaches to psychotherapy including specialized coursework inĀ  mindfulness meditation and Gestalt Therapy. This transformative experience significantly impacted both my professional and personal development.

While accumulating licensure hours at Denton County MHMR, I realized I wanted to continue training in psychology by pursuing a doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas. This doctoral program emphasized strength-based, postmodern approaches to counseling with a particular emphasis on Solution-Focused Therapy. After graduation, I completed my postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Texas at San Antonio’s Counseling Services. After becoming licensed as a psychologist, I began my independent practice in Austin, Texas and have been enjoying this fulfilling pursuit for over a decade.
